Spoon of Doom!
I decided at the beginning of the year that every Monday night would be experiment night for dinner. My first try flopped, last week's was a great success, and this week's was a lukewarm performance. I should consider it a victory, since everyone ate their food without complaint, and I really enjoyed it, but I suppose it's too much to ask that I get shown some appreciation.

So, what did I make?

Icy Road
1. I've been freezing all day long. I know I'm a weather wimp and y'all in the midwest or northeast are just shaking your heads, but to me, 50 degrees is COLD.

2. I am in love with this little pan. It's perfect for cooking my breakfast, and it doesn't take up much room in the dishwasher. Best $7 I spent all week.

3. Azkatraz announces WROCK AROUND THE ROCK. This is going to be great fun and I'll be buying my ticket as soon as I get paid at the end of the month.

Hi Fives
Since we didn't have anywhere we had to be tonight, I decided to try out one of [info]irinaauthor posted quite awhile ago - the zucchini fritters. The grocery store was out of fresh mint, and I cut down the amount of cheese in the receipe to try to make it a bit healthier, and I forgot to buy the limes, but OMG they were terrific! And very easy to make too.

The rest of my family wasn't interested, although I shared with "I'll-have-a-margarita-on-the-rocks-no-ice" when she came over to borrow some ketchup for her meatloaf. I'm going to be munching on the leftovers for the rest of the week, and it's something that I can do so without any guilt, because they are veggies! Yum.
