In other, home-related news, we now have one of three ceiling fans installed upstairs. I'm laying on my bed, enjoying the breeze. Our handyman is an old family friend, he's known me since I was 9. Only problem is that he's extremely chatty, and he's driving us all nuts. He'll come back when the other two fans arrive to hook up the girls' bedrooms. I think I'm going to make it a point to have lots and lots of errands to run while he works, heh.

Adventures in toilet repair

So, our downstairs toilet is broken - just the flapper, it's an easy fix. K and I make trip #1 to Lowe's, new flapper is bought, we go pick up M from school and head home.

10 minutes later, the flapper is installed, but the float bar (made of plastic) breaks. *palmface*

K asks to stay home, so M and I make trip #2 to Lowes to purchase a new float and bar. Cashier notices I'm back, this time with a different kid. We laugh, make small talk, then pay for stuff, head home - it should be an easy repair, right?

Wrong! The hardware inside the toilet is made entirely of cheap plastic and the new bar I bought won't screw into it.

We're off to make Trip #3 to Lowes as soon as M is done with her math homework.

And to counter the toilet drama, GIP. :D

ETA: Toilet is now kinda fixed with a too-short valve. Ah well, I can get the correct size next time, but it works!
